Bigme’s F7 digital photo frame just hit a killer price

Act now while the deal lasts

I love all things E Ink, and its latest full-color bistable displays are truly modern marvels. That’s why I was low-key shocked to see this E Ink Spectra–powered digital photo frame from Bigme for the crazy low price of $79.99 on their website.

Paying $80 for a Spectra display is an incredible bargain

You can get a similarly sized or larger digital photo frame from Amazon for less money, but those are fundamentally different products. Your run-of-the-mill frame is almost certainly based on LCD technology, which is emissive, meaning it gives off light that can be a distraction while you’re gaming or watching a movie. It also requires a constant source of power, and that means it needs to be plugged in, recharged frequently, have a massive battery, or all three.

Bigme’s F7 digital photo frame doesn’t have those problems. E Ink’s displays are non-emissive, so instead of shining a light through an LCD matrix, it physically arranges colored e-ink pigments that reflect ambient light. Thanks to the inherent bistability of E Ink displays, once the Bigme photo frame has an image loaded, it stays there without drawing any power.

The display tech behind this frame is also relatively unique in the consumer market. Like the Gallery 3 display found on the reMarkable Paper Pro devices, Spectra uses color e-ink pigments. Where Spectra distinguishes itself is in color saturation and vibrancy, precisely the qualities you want in your photos.

Get the Bigme F7 while the getting’s good

If you do jump on this deal, you’ll get a frame with a 7.3” display, multi-device wi-fi synchronization, and a first-party app to tie it all together. It also offers a 1,300 mAh battery that Bigme says will last for months on a single charge. We don’t know how long this discount is going to last, so if you want one of these, jump on it before the price goes back up to $100.
