Thanks to a few leaks, we’ve known that reMarkable would soon launch a smaller E Ink digital notebook, and today is the day. This new product is known as the Paper Pro Move, which continues the Paper Pro line that started in 2024.
The Paper Pro Move is here. It’s a pocketable digital notepad

As the name suggests, the Paper Pro Move is a color device. It’s utilizing what reMarkable calls a Canvas Color display, which is a custom Gallery 3 screen from E Ink. This is important to note, as this screen is not offered by any other manufacturer at the moment. If it’s anything like the screen in the original Paper Pro, it should offer some of the best colors E Ink has to offer, just like its bigger brother.

You can check out the launch event video for the Paper Pro Move directly above, which aired live this morning. From the video, it is clear that reMarkable has positioned the device as a digital notepad you can easily carry around, designed for consumers and businesses, as it is enterprise-ready.
Specifications
The reMarkable Paper Pro Move offers a 7.3-inch screen, a fine size for a device designed to be carried around throughout your day, just like a regular paper notepad. But what’s interesting here is that the screen is 16:9, a ratio that isn’t all that common for vertical handhelds, but in this case, it’s very welcome as it will ensure the digital notepad is slim enough to hold in one hand, so that you can write with the other.
Beyond the unique screen, you get 2GB of RAM, which may sound low, but this isn’t a device that runs a bunch of apps like Android; the firmware is purpose-built for notetaking and reading.

However, the processor is a 1.7 GHz Dual-Core Cortex-A55, which should result in a significant upgrade over the Cortex-A53 offered in the older and larger Paper Pro. This is certainly nice to see.
The battery is 2,334 mAh, about half of the Paper Pro’s, but since we are only dealing with a 7.3-inch screen with the new Paper Pro Move, reMarkable claims that battery life equals out to a similar 2 weeks. Not bad.
The reMarkable Paper Pro Move isn’t cheap, and neither are its peripherals

Up to this point, reMarkable devices don’t come cheap, and the $449 launch price for Paper Pro Move continues that trend (heck, the regular Paper Pro is $629). Luckily, the standard Marker stylus comes with the device, but if you want the Marker Plus and its built-in eraser, that’ll be a $50 upcharge.

At least there is a free pen
The folio cases are extra, too, but you do have a choice of materials from the three on offer, ranging in price from $70 for a gray polymer weave to $99 for a mosaic weave to $140 for the premium leather case. Both the leather and the mosaic cases offer a few colors to choose from for those of you interested in customizing the look of your device.
If you thought the reMarkable Paper Pro was too big and heavy, the Paper Pro Move is designed to solve that problem

The reMarkable family: reMarkable 2, reMarkable Paper Pro, reMarkable Paper Pro Move
You can see the entire family of reMarkable devices, and the reMarkable Paper Pro Move is very much dwarfed by the rest. It’s looking to be the perfect size and dimensions to fill the gap as a digital notepad you carry around in your pocket.
While the price is a little high at $449 and won’t please everyone, what you get in return is a unique color E Ink screen you won’t find anywhere else, with a faster processor than its predecessor, in a pocketable form. The R&D to create such a device is always going to add up, but frankly, I’d rather live in a world where the reMarkable Paper Pro Move is a little expensive than not exist at all.
