TROLEU is a satirical job sim that’s completely off its trolley, and I’m into it

I sure hope there's a streetcar named Desire

I’m not sure why, but there appears to be an abundance of train games hitting Steam as of late. From upcoming platformers like Denshattack! to casual clickers like Trainatic, there is no shortage of train games to choose from, and I’m loving it. As a matter of fact, one such game I’ve been keeping my eye on is launching today, called TROLEU, and thanks to a demo that’s available, I can already confirm this is one train game that’s absolutely off its trolley.

As you can see in the trailer, TROLEU doesn’t take itself too seriously. This is a job simulation game where you play as a trolley conductor, and it’s not only your job to make sure every rider pays their fare, but it’s also your job to keep everyone in order, and as you can imagine, neither is an easy feat. This leads to plenty of hilarity as you get to boot anyone from kids to grandmas from the train, physically.

As fun as it is punching old ladies and tossing them off the train like a Nazi in an Indiana Jones film, like most meme-worthy games, TROLEU contains some rough edges. Making change for riders is just as annoying as it is in the real world, possibly even more so. There’s also no story to speak of, and you’ll need to grind to unlock new items.

Still, TROLEU runs well; there are very few noticeable bugs in the demo, and since the graphics are pretty simple, the title should run just fine on devices like the Steam Deck. Rest assured, controllers are supported out of the box.

TROLEU is just the ticket for your next gaming session

There’s no question TROLEU is a manic yet cohesive job sim that’s both whacky and amusing to play, and I can’t wait for the full release to drop today. The demo has proven to be a blast, and I wholeheartedly recommend checking it out to decide if TROLEU is the type of game for you. Then again, if you’re into games with trains like me, TROLEU is easily an instant pickup.
